So, what should you do if you’ve spilled liquid on your laptop?

We all know that accidents can happen, no matter how careful we are. If you act fast, you can minimize the damage. Here’s what you should do right away.

Power off immediately: Shut down your laptop right away to avoid any further electrical damage. Disconnect the power cord too.
Drain the liquid out: Open the laptop like a tent and place on top of a towel to encourage liquid draining.
Put it near a heat source: Not a hair dryer!. Put it next to the window with the sun shining on it or blow a fan on it.
Don’t try to turn it on: If you don’t wait long enough, turning it on with the liquid still present could be big trouble. Wait at least 48 hours.

For Water Spills – Drybox Recovery ($139): We have a special drybox that acts like a “super dryer” for laptops exposed to water. After removing the bottom cover and blowing out all residual water with air, our experts place your laptop in the drybox for 12-24 hours. Afterward, we reassemble and test your device to ensure it’s fully functional.
Liquid Spill – Discovery, Part 1 of 2 ($175): Did you spill a soft drink or coffee? We start the recovery process by entering Discovery Mode. We carefully hand-clean and remove corrosion using an ultrasonic cleaning machine, followed by an alcohol bath to eliminate any remaining liquid. Your laptop then goes into the drybox for further drying. We perform diagnostics to determine if your device can be saved.
Liquid Spill – Recovery, Part 2 of 2 ($175): If your laptop passes the Discovery process and still shows signs of life, we move to Recovery. We reassemble the device and conduct thorough stress testing on all components, including the keyboard, battery, and trackpad. Our goal is to ensure that your laptop is fully functional and free of any residual issues before returning it to you.
Liquid Spill – Outsource Repair: In more severe cases, such as full submersion, we work with an outside expert who charges a flat fee to attempt to save your logic board (motherboard). Additional costs apply for any other damaged parts. This critical recovery process takes 2-4 weeks and is designed for situations where standard repairs may not be sufficient. Each case would have to be evaluated before a repair estimate is given.
