Your laptop doesn’t have to be lost to a spill.
One small coffee spill and your laptop can start acting strange or not responding to the keyboard at all. Liquid spills can be devastating to a laptop, and while you’d think the newer models were more spill resistant, they not.
Did you know? Macs are more susceptible than PCs to liquid damage? And the worse liquid type to spill? Water, because of its electrical conductivity properties.
Two River Computer of Fair Haven specializes in laptop water damage repair, taking care to remove all liquid, replace any damaged parts, and get your laptop back to you as good as new.
Two River Computer Laptop Water Damage First Aid Options:
- For Water Spills – Drybox Recovery ($129)
We have a special drybox that is like a “super dryer” for laptops that have been exposed to water. After removing the bottom cover and blowing out all residual water with air, our experts put your laptop in the drybox for 12-24 hours, then reassemble and test. - Liquid Spill – Discovery, part 1 of 2 ($175)
Were you drinking a soft drink or coffee when that spill happened? Then we go right into our Discovery Mode. We do a careful hand-cleaning and corrosion removal with an ultrasonic cleaning machine. Then your laptop gets an alcohol bath to remove any remaining liquid, and it’s into the drybox. We then do some diagnostics to determine if it can be saved. - Liquid Spill – Recovery, part 2 of 2 ($175)
If all looks good after the Discovery process and your laptop still has signs of life, we then reassemble it and do thorough stress testing of all components. We want to make sure when you get it back home that you’re not going to have residual keyboard, battery, or trackpad issues. - Liquid Spill – Outsource Repair ($479)
Have you had a worse mishap than just a spill? Did your laptop get fully submerged in water? In severe cases, we work with an outside expert who charges a flat fee to try to save your logic board (aka the Mother board). Any other parts that are damaged would be additional. This critical recovery process takes about 2-4 weeks.
Don’t throw out that laptop just yet because it’s had some liquid damage. It may still be salvageable. Give our recovery experts a call at 732-747-0020, we’re here to help!
